Spicy sausage filling made with minced chicken, cream cheese sauce, spices, bacon, and cheese. Air fry’d until golden brown.
(Sch)Spicy Balls
Spicy, smoky, creamy, cheesy chicken balls, rolled in panko and air fryed until golden brown.
Ingredients
1 Cup cooked chicken, minced
1 Tablespoon butter
1 Tablespoon flour
1/2 Cup milk (2% or whole)
1 Teaspoon Red Hot Seasoning Blend
1/4 Teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 Teaspoon celery salt
1/4 Teaspoon onion powder
Salt/pepper, to taste
1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper (more or less, to taste)
1-2 Tablespoons Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce
3 Slices cooked bacon, finely chopped
1/2 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4-1/3 Cup Pickled jalapeños, chopped
1-1 1/2 Cup Panko breadcrumbs
1 egg, whisked with a Tablespoon water
1/2 Cup flour
Directions
- Place cooked chicken in a food processor and pulse until minced.
- Place in a bowl and set aside.
- Melt butter in pot and whisk in flour.
- Pour in milk, whisking until thickened.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in all spices and hot sauce. Whisk until combined.
- Pour over chicken and add in the bacon, cheese and jalapeños.
- Mix well.
- Shape into 1 inch balls.
- Place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
- Place flour in 1 dish, egg wash in another, and breadcrumbs in the last dish.
- Remove balls from freezer.
- Coat balls in flour, then egg wash, then breadcrumbs.
- Repeat until all balls are coated.
- Spray balls with PAM and place in the AirFryer, PAM side down.
- Spray the thorp of the balls with PAM.
- Air fry at 350, for 10 minutes shaking rack several times during the cooking process to ensure even browning on all sides.
- If needed, add on a couple of minutes for browning.
- Let cool for 10 minutes.
